Take all of the stress out of your big day. Our on-site wedding coordinators will work together with you to organise every little detail, so you can relax and enjoy the process! From food to floor plans, we have your Bay of Islands wedding covered!.

Stay.

Get ready for your wedding on the balcony of the oldest licensed hotel in New Zealand. Boasting a total of 38 rooms, including your bridal suite, we have the best spot for you and your friends to stay during your Bay of Islands wedding.

Eat.

We have some great menus to work with from our Award-Winning Restaurant! Don't worry about pre-ordering or alternate drop, our staff will come round and take individual orders on the day, so everyone can have what they wish!

Our Ballroom

Our grand ballroom with ornate ceilings, low hanging chandeliers and polished wooden floorboards opens up directly onto sun-filled decks overlooking the sea. The ballroom is fitted with individually upholstered chairs seating up to 150 guests comfortably.

Planning

We have on-site wedding coordinators with years of experience in planning and delivering tailor made, personalised weddings. We manage all of the details in the lead up to and on your wedding, day providing unlimited support and assistance so you can relax and enjoy your day without having to worry about the finer details of your Bay of Islands wedding

Dining

With an award-winning restaurant (featured in Cuisine Magazine's Top 100 Restaurants) the Duke offers exquisite cuisine and exceptional service. We create the taste and flavour of the season to make this a memorable celebration for you and your guests. We even take the orders on the day, so all your guests can get exactly what they want!

Ceremony

Our beautiful hand-planted garden is the perfect spot to say, 'I DO', under the 150-year-old Fig Tree, with sweeping views across The Bay of Islands, you will have beautiful photos to relive your Bay of Islands wedding

Accomodation.

The Duke can provide the total wedding experience with 38 room catering for your guests and a bridal suite. Our team will provide you with some PDF Documents to send to your guests, and we can organise accommodation directly with them, so you don't have to worry!

Drinks

Being New Zealand's first licensed hotel, we pride ourselves in having an extensive wine list offering 100 different wines. We also have a carefully curated selection of craft and premium beers, highlighting our locally produced favourites. Simply choose the wines from our list, and we will charge you on consumption!

Planning was smoother than I could have imagined. Beth was so organised and responsive and just so experienced. We had to organise from London, and working with the Duke made it easy. They were accommodating of tricky time zones and the communication was excellent. The staff on the day were all phenomenal and itreally made us feel so relaxed and special.

I loved having so many of our guests stay at the Duke – it turned the wedding into a whole weekend event. Getting ready in the waterfront rooms with beautiful balconies, the fabulous meal provided by the Duke, the many beautiful places for photos, and getting to spend the evening surrounded by our closest family and friends..
